Use the Used!

Can I just tell you how much I love, love, LOVE children's used clothing stores? Seriously. Love. L-O-V-E.

Now that the weather's turning cooler I really needed to face the fact that my poor baby boy needs pants and long-sleeved shirts. Here in Wisconsin the temps dropped about 20 degrees a week ago and here is my kid running around still in shorts and T-shirts! So yesterday we all trekked to my absolute favorite used children's clothing store, New to You Kids. Actually, I have to clarify that there is more at this store than just clothes. There are toys, shoes, toys, furniture, toys....anything a kid could want or need is there. Another thing I love is the built-in play pen area stocked with toys for kids to play with while Mama shops. Awesomeness!

So for less than $60 I got everything you see in the above picture. Yup. All that.

-8 shirts
-2 sweatshirts
-5 pairs of pants
-3 pajamas

Nothing cost more than $5. In fact, I think almost everything except the hooded sweatshirt was either $3.75 or $2.50. Wooo!! Best find of the day? Thomas the Tank Engine pj's for $3.75! SCORE!!!

In a perfect world I would love to be able to get my boy brand new clothes. But since he grows so fast, plus the economy being what it is, I just can't justify that kind of an expense. And when I can practically by an entire season's wardrobe for well under $100, how can I pass that up? ;)

  1. And it's green, too! Besides, money or no, in what world does it make sense to buy new clothing whent here is clothing that LOOKS brand new for 70-90% off somewhere? Sure, it was worn by another little boy a few times. Like Gavin cares, or anyone else would know! Score, MM! :)
